Sport Psychology for Athletes

Sport psychology can help you understand the psychological factors influencing your performance and develop practical strategies to perform more consistently.

I provide one-to-one sport psychology support to athletes across the UK, with online sessions available nationwide and in-person support available in London where appropriate.

What is Sport Psychology?

Sport psychology focuses on the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that influence how we perform, train and respond to the challenges of competitive sport.

Working with a sport psychologist provides a dedicated space to explore the psychological side of your performance and develop skills that can be applied in training and competition.

The aim isn't to make difficult thoughts, nerves or emotions disappear. Instead, we work on developing the skills to respond to them effectively and stay focused on what matters to you.

What can sport psychology help with?

Sport psychology isn't only for elite athletes or athletes experiencing a major problem.

It can be useful for anyone who wants to better understand the psychological side of their performance and develop skills that support them in training and competition.

Who can benefit from sport psychology?

Developing athletes

Build strong psychological foundations as you progress through your sport and learn skills that support both performance and wellbeing.

Competitive athletes

Develop confidence, consistency and the ability to respond effectively to pressure, setbacks and the demands of competition.

Elite athletes

Refine psychological skills and navigate the demands of high-performance environments, where small margins can make a significant difference.

MY APPROACH

A psychological approach built around you

There is no single psychological formula for performing at your best.

My approach is collaborative, practical and tailored to you. We'll explore your individual goals, your sporting environment and the psychological factors that are influencing your performance.

I draw on evidence-based psychological approaches to help athletes develop psychological flexibility, respond more effectively to difficult thoughts and emotions, and focus on what matters most.

The aim isn't to eliminate nerves, doubt or difficult thoughts. It's to help you respond to them in ways that allow you to keep performing and move towards what matters to you.
